# Fetch the entity classification taxonomy

GET https://api.aventure.vc/v1/classifications/catalog

Returns active classification buckets with optional tag lists. Each bucket carries its canonical `type`, accepted `alias[]` spellings, `tagCount`, and (when includeTags=true) the active `tag[]`. Use bucketType to scope to one bucket and includeTags=false to fetch metadata only. For tag ids, prefer `classifications tags --type <bucket> --q <name>` over broad catalog JSON; use returned tag.id as EntityClassificationMutation.tagId when writing classifications. Dormant registry tags are intentionally omitted; type + name writes that find one return 409 with inactiveTagOverride recovery choices.

## Authentication

- `X-Client-Secret` header (required) — Client secret for read-only service-to-service access (no writes)

## Request

### Query parameters

- `bucketType` (string, optional) — Optional classification bucket. Accepts the same values as the tags endpoint type parameter.
- `includeTags` (boolean, optional) — When false, returns bucket metadata without tag arrays. For tag ids, prefer `classifications tags` with type and q filters instead of broad catalog JSON.

## Response

### 200

OK

- `bucket` (list of object, required)
  - `alias` (list of string, required) — Other accepted spellings for this bucket (JSON key plus storage form, deduplicated against `type`). The /tags ?type= and /catalog ?bucketType= parameters accept any of `[type, ...alias]`. Empty when the bucket has only one canonical spelling.
  - `creatable` (boolean, required) — Whether missing values in this bucket can be created by name.
  - `hierarchical` (boolean, required) — Whether the bucket has hierarchy semantics.
  - `label` (string, required) — Human-readable bucket label (e.g. 'Revenue Model').
  - `tag` (list of object, required) — Active registry tags only. Empty when includeTags=false; dormant tags are omitted and require write-time inactiveTagOverride recovery when type + name matches.
    - `creatable` (boolean, required)
    - `name` (string, required) — Display name. Capped to the standardized taxonomy storage limit because this shared read contract covers NAICS/SIC/ISIC-style classification labels as well as editorial tags.
    - `writable` (boolean, required)
    - `creatable` (boolean, required) — Whether this bucket permits creating missing values by type plus name.
    - `id` (integer, required) — Classification tag registry id from res_type_ref; use as EntityClassificationMutation.tagId.
    - `name` (string, required) — Name
    - `type` (string, required) — Canonical tag classification type
    - `writable` (boolean, required) — Whether this existing tag can be joined through tagId.
    - `isCurrent` (boolean, optional, nullable)
    - `isPrimary` (boolean, optional, nullable)
    - `bucket` (string, optional, nullable) — Canonical entity-classification bucket key. Use this as EntityClassificationMutation.type when creating by type plus name; `type` remains the registry wire value for tag search and catalog round-trips.
    - `classificationId` (integer, optional, nullable) — Entity classification join row id for update/delete; present on entity classification responses and null on discovery responses.
    - `createdAt` (datetime, optional, nullable) — Registry tag creation timestamp, not the entity join timestamp.
    - `isCurrent` (boolean, optional, nullable) — Current-state flag for this context: registry active flag in discovery, entity join current flag in entity-classification responses.
    - `isPrimary` (boolean, optional, nullable) — Entity join primary flag within its bucket; null on catalog/tag discovery.
    - `slug` (string, optional, nullable) — Slug
    - `updatedAt` (datetime, optional, nullable) — Registry tag update timestamp; join updates return isCurrent/isPrimary but no join updatedAt.
  - `tagCount` (integer, required) — Total active tags in this bucket. Populated regardless of `includeTags` so callers can decide whether to fetch detail without a follow-up count query.
  - `type` (string, required) — Canonical wire value — use as ?type= for /tags, as ?bucketType= for /catalog, and as Tag.type when round-tripping. Matches Tag.type returned in this bucket's tag[].
  - `writable` (boolean, required) — Whether existing rows in this bucket can be joined.
  - `bucket` (string, optional, nullable) — Canonical entity-classification bucket key. Use as EntityClassificationMutation.type when creating by type plus name.
- `category` (list of object, required)
  - `alias` (list of string, required) — Accepted spellings for this category.
  - `category` (string, required) — Canonical standardized category key.
  - `classification` (list of object, required) — Standardized classifications. Empty when includeTags=false.
    - `creatable` (boolean, required)
    - `name` (string, required) — Display name. Capped to the standardized taxonomy storage limit because this shared read contract covers NAICS/SIC/ISIC-style classification labels as well as editorial tags.
    - `writable` (boolean, required)
    - `category` (string, required) — Standardized category token.
    - `creatable` (boolean, required) — Standardized taxonomy rows are join-existing-only.
    - `id` (integer, required) — Standardized classification registry id from res_classification_ref; use as EntityClassificationMutation.classificationId.
    - `name` (string, required) — Name
    - `writable` (boolean, required) — Existing standardized rows can be joined through classificationId.
    - `isCurrent` (boolean, optional, nullable)
    - `isPrimary` (boolean, optional, nullable)
    - `code` (integer, optional, nullable) — Standardized classification code when present.
    - `createdAt` (datetime, optional, nullable) — Registry row creation timestamp.
    - `entityClassificationId` (integer, optional, nullable) — Entity classification join row id for update/delete; present on entity classification responses and null on discovery responses.
    - `isCurrent` (boolean, optional, nullable) — Standardized reference rows are current by definition.
    - `isPrimary` (boolean, optional, nullable) — Entity join primary flag within this standardized category.
    - `level` (integer, optional, nullable) — Hierarchy level when present.
    - `updatedAt` (datetime, optional, nullable) — Registry row update timestamp.
  - `classificationCount` (integer, required) — Total standardized classifications in this category.
  - `creatable` (boolean, required) — Whether missing values in this category can be created by name.
  - `hierarchical` (boolean, required) — Whether the category has hierarchy semantics.
  - `label` (string, required) — Human-readable category label.
  - `writable` (boolean, required) — Whether existing rows in this category can be joined.
- `generatedAt` (datetime, required)
- `totalBucket` (integer, required)
- `totalCategory` (integer, required)
- `totalStandardizedClassification` (integer, required)
- `totalTag` (integer, required)
